Meet Our Team

Dr. Jenny Kungl
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and
Owner of Norwich Veterinary Services

I was born and raised at the west end of town.  As a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, my first position was with a mixed animal practice for 5 years.  It suited me well as my grandparents were local dairy farmers, and my family home was a menagerie of cats, dogs, birds, pocket pets, fish and always a majestic horse.

As my husband Curtis and I started our own two-legged family, I accepted a position at a small animal clinic for approximately 5 years while our boys, Wyatt and Lane, were growing up.  In 2015, I had the fortunate opportunity to return to the village of Norwich and work alongside the previous owners.

As the owner of the Norwich Veterinary Service, our team cares about providing high quality medicine for your companion animals and small ruminants (goats/sheep).  We enjoy caring for the residents and pets of Norwich and our surrounding communities. We are proud to be known for our excellent customer service, community involvement and a one of a kind team.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Sarah DePaulo completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph in 2015, and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2019. Throughout her university years, she worked many different positions in small animal veterinary clinics (from reception, assistant, and now veterinarian!). Her family will tell you she has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 3 years old. She was born in Pickering, Ontario, but eventually moved to Guelph, Cambridge, and finally Norwich! Born in a big city, but definitely more small town at heart!

She now lives in Norwich with her husband and fur babies, Stella the Rottweiler, Tokyo the Rottie x Doberman mix, Pip the long haired kitty, and Toothless the sassy rescued stray cat! She has worked at the Norwich Veterinary Service since June 2019 and so far her favourite part of the clinic is the amazing clients and staff! She loves the close knit community in Norwich and is excited to become a part of it. Dr. Sarah loves all sorts of weird and wonderful cases in veterinary medicine, but has a special interest in surgery, ultrasonography, dentistry, and internal medicine cases. While not at the clinic she can be found outdoors camping, hiking, kayaking, or taking the dogs for a walk. She aspires to travel to every inch of the world! She also enjoys exploring Oxford County or relaxing at home with her husband and the fur babies.

Dr. Julia Saturno
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Julia Saturno studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph before pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College. She officially joined the Norwich Vet Service team full time in 2021! She was born and raised in the GTA and has slowly been making her way further west. Dr. Julia currently lives in Paris, Ontario with her partner Eric and their menagerie of pets – Rubie (dog), Yukon Potato (dog), Cooper (cat), Gnocchi (cat), Harlie (horse) and Bee (rabbit). Potato comes into the clinic every day and loves to meet new friends!

As a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional, Dr. Julia understands the stress and anxiety that can arise for both you and your pets when they are sick and need to visit the vet clinic. She strives to make each visit a positive experience through gentle handling, reducing anxiety triggers, and ensuring the safety of everyone involved.

Working at various small animal hospitals, with the Six Nations wellness clinics, and volunteering at spay/neuter alliances, Dr. Julia has gained the knowledge and dedication to handle a variety of cases. She is passionate about all facets of general practice, particularly dermatology, oncology and end of life care.

When Dr. Julia is not at the clinic you can find her kayaking down the Grand River, at the barn with her horse, hiking with Rubie or snuggled up on the couch with the cats!

Rebecca graduated from Ridgetown College and worked for many years as a Registered Veterinary Technician before transitioning into a managing role. Rebecca loves working in a small community and the variety of work that her role takes on.

She enjoys practicing her technician skills at the back and talking to clients about nutrition or behaviour, especially puppy socialization and training tidbits. Rebecca is greatly involved in office tasks and inventory management.  “One of the greatest things about my role in the clinic that I am able to dive into multiple areas keeping me on my toes at all times.”

Customer Service Receptionist and Office Manager

Andrea is one of the smiling faces you will meet as part of our Customer Service Representative team.  She has been part of our team since September 2018.  Andrea attended the University of Waterloo where she graduated with a BA in Psychology.  She also received a diploma in Human Resources.  As a newcomer to the field, Andrea enjoys learning as much as possible with every new patient as well as building relationships with our clients.  It is Andrea’s goal to help each client and their pets to feel as comfortable as possible.

She spent most of her career working in Human Resources for a large corporation in Waterloo.  She made the decision to stop working and stay home with her young family after she had her first child.  After 8 years of being a stay at home parent, the opportunity of working part time with the amazing team at Norwich Veterinary Service arose; it was the perfect time as her youngest started school.

At home she has a full house including 3 children and 10 pets (2 indoor cats Vampire Bill and Thomas; 2 dogs Ruby and Murphy; 3 shop cats Rusty, Lucy and George; Blue the chicken; Honeycrisp the mini and Carrot the Sheep).  While not at the clinic, Andrea loves spending time with her husband and three kids, friends and family.  She enjoys being outdoors and taking the kids to all of their sports and activities!  She can also be found volunteering with various programs at the school, and helping with various teams around the community.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Gayle is one of our fantastic RVT’s who has been a part of the Norwich Veterinary Service team since 2014.  After graduating from Ridgetown College, Gayle was happy to be back working in the community where she grew up.

Around the clinic, Gayle enjoys working in the lab, viewing parasites under the microscope, dental prophys and nursing our in-hospital patients back to health.

In her spare time, you can find Gayle curling or spending time with her family and friends. Gayle lives with her fiancé and their seven pets – Mya, Smokey, Nanook, Mayo, Stewie*, Penny & Poppy.

*Yes THAT Stewie! He went home with Gayle on the weekends and during clinic renovations, and then decided to stay. He is loving his new life as a house cat with a warm fireplace to sleep in front of and his new BFF Mayo.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Alisha knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field since she was 7 years old.  She grew up on a dairy farm in the Norwich area, had her high school co-op placement at Norwich Vet Service, and after graduating from Ridgetown College in 2017 began working full time.  Alisha enjoys working with clients and patients to reach their weight loss goals, helping them manage long term diseases such as osteoarthritis and diabetes, and has an extra soft spot for our seniors.  She enjoys nursing our hospitalized patients and assisting with triage of urgent patients.

When not at work, Alisha can be found with her sheep.  She and her sister in law care for their wooly friends and especially enjoy lambing time!  She also enjoys skating, fishing, and kayaking.
